Last SnoMo
Right when it seemed as though spring time was upon us here in Utah, winter stopped back in to hang out for a bit longer. Over the last few weeks Utah has been experiencing more cold temps and snow in the mountains. So like any rational snowboarder I gathered up some friends and took to the hills on a mission.
First we had to pick a spot. With rising temps in the forecast we chose a zone notorious for colder temps and good snow conditions in the Uintas.
My friend/environmental activist Tony Pavlantos volunteered to drive his big ass Veggie Oil powered truck and load our sleds up on his big ass trailer. This was very nice of him and it was nice knowing that our fuel was free thanks to local restaurants and the oil they discard.
We pulled up to the the lot around 9:00am. Smelling like french fries, Tony p’s veggie oil truck rumbled into a spot where we could unload all of our sleds. A few minutes later our friends we were meeting pulled up, filmer guy Eddie Grams and boarders Eric Fernandez and Mac Spedel. We decided to be law abiding and purchased the recreation passes to put on out cars, suited up and away we rupped.
About 15 miles in and we found our spot a cool little bowl of natural features. There were cliffs, drops and pillows of all sorts. The sun was out and it was time to have some fun. We cruised the zone up and down with our sleds checking everything out so we could pick the most fun looking stuff to ride. Everyone found some fun lines and tried to get creative with the natural snowboard park we had discovered.
At the end of the day we headed back with some some cool shots and smiles on our faces. While the season in most places is wrapping up it is never to late to go out and find the goods. Get on a sled, put on some snow shoes, a split board, hike up to the last patch of snow left at your resort, do what ever it takes to get that lat fix before summer comes and takes away all of our fun.

Truckin ‘er in.

Tripoddin’ it.

Sleds are finicky bitches.

Late season line drop.
Road to sled time-lapse…
